…is something we all have to live with now that smartphones are the status quo, and the days of your Nokia 3210 battery lasting nearly a week are a distant memory.

Personally, I’ve started using powerbanks when travelling to give me freedom from stopping and plugging my phone into a wall for a couple of hours here and there, and to allow me to stop having to conserve battery life by minimising the amount of time I use my phone. For all you hikers, festival goers, backpackers, frequent fliers and anyone else that gets frustrated by short battery life, a power bank really is a must have.

Basically, a powerbank is a compact battery pack, with a USB port, that allows you to charge your phone, tablet, on any other USB device, on the go. The particular one pictured here has a 8400mAh rating, which means it can charge your phone 4 to 6 times before you need to recharge it, which frankly, is amazing. Also, it has 2 USB ports on it, so you can charge multiple devices at the same time.

I attended a New Years Eve party in a friends house a couple of days ago, and used my Galaxy S4 (short battery life) as a WiFi hotspot (heavy battery use) from about 4pm, until well into the night, and headed home with my battery fully charged.

We have a variety of powerbanks in stock at the moment, ranging from 4800mAh, to the 8400mAh model featured here.
