The two most spoken about phone manufacturers in the world have to be Apple and Samsung, and over the years, they’ve had there fair share of differences. One slightly unusual thing that they have in common, is that if you drop a phone made by either, and crack the screen, they can be in a remarkably bad condition and still work. Don’t ask me how, or why this occurs, but it’s something that HTC, Sony, and many other brands simply can’t do.

This HTC Desire 610 for example, was booked for a Free Collection by a customer in Waterford City, because the phone was dropped, and the screen is broken. From the picture above, you can see that there is one large crack across the centre of the screen. One of our engineers, as he was working on the phone, noticed that the entire bottom half (underneath the crack) wasn’t responding to touch, but every other feature of the phone was working without any problems.

Thankfully, after a quick screen replacement, the phone was back up and running, as good as new, with a full 12 month warranty. If you have a broken HTC phone, check out our HTC Repair page for more information, and fill out a short Repair Request form to have your device collected from you, anywhere in the country, free of charge.
