A damaged charging port was the cause of this customer’s fault.

The Apple iPhone 7 was released back in 2016 and has improved hardware and software compared with previous iPhone models, this time there is an absence of a headphone jack, which from speaking with our customers instore has received mixed reactions.

Our technicians carry out multiple Apple repairs each day, port replacements being one of the most common.  The iPhone 7 featured in the picture above arrived into us this morning being unable to charge.  Our technicians carried out diagnostics, a damaged charging port was the cause of this iPhones fault. The technicians noted that the iPhone 7’s charging port was damaged.  This can be caused by dirt and dust building up in the port and then being compacted each time a charger is plugged into it, making it increasingly difficult to charge.  Unfortunately, over time it is possible to cause physical damage to the charging port.  Our technicians were able to perform an iPhone 7 port replacement in little over an hour and once completed we provided the customer with a 12-month warranty.
