It’s safe to say at this point that it’s difficult to surprise us with a broken phone. We’ve seen phones that were rolled over, had gym weights dropped on them, phones damaged by power tools, welders, etc. So it’s unusual for us to see a phone damaged in a certain way for the first time.

However, last week I came across the damaged iPhone 7 damaged featured above with a slightly unusual issue. The customer had dropped the phone from a height with the charger plugged in. When the iPhone hit the ground, the charger was driven through the port, and through the rear of the screen, damaging both.

Our technicians performed diagnostics on the broken iPhone and determined that the screen and port would need to be replaced to repair the iPhone. Thankfully, the iPhone 7 screen replacement and port replacement took just one hour to complete, meaning we were able to get this damaged iPhone 7 back up and running in no time.
