The iPod Classic is a fantastic device. To this day, no smartphone, or more modern iPod has even come close to the storage capabilities of the iPod Classic, allowing music lovers to carry their entire music collection everywhere. What’s not to love!

This however, comes with a catch (of course). The type of memory in an iPod Classic, is a HDD, basically the same type of memory that’s in a laptop or desktop, rather than the flash memory in other iPods and phones, which is similar to a USB flash drive or memory card. The problem with this, is that an iPod hard drive is a spinning disc, and gets damaged easily if dropped, and also wears out from being moved a lot (it’s an iPod, not a stereo, so movement is sort of unavoidable).

This iPod featured here was in the latter category, had been used a lot, not dropped, and stopped working completely. Thankfully, one of our engineers was able to replace the hard drive in a couple of hours, and have the iPod back up and running in not time, with a full 6 month warranty.
