The last Sony Playstation on the market had an issue that was affectionately known as the ‘Yellow Light of Death’ and was a problem caused by heat damaging the GPU chip’s connection to the motherboard of the console. Since the release of the Playstation 4 a couple of years ago, gamers waited in suspense hoping that this wouldn’t be a problem on the PS4, but as a few years have passed since, we’re starting to see this issue again. The problem again stems from overheating, and is now called ‘BLOD’ rather than ‘YLOD’, and causes the console to start with the normal blue light, then turn yellow, beep twice and shut down.
